Ahmet Akyol joined the ASELSAN family in 2022 as Sector President and Deputy General Manager of Microelectronics, Guidance, and Electro-Optics (MGEO). He has been serving as ASELSAN General Manager since June 22, 2023. He continues his work in line with priorities such as strengthening the company's corporate structure, streamlining and digitizing internal processes, taking effective steps in disruptive technologies such as artificial intelligence, and increasing ASELSAN's effectiveness in the global arena. Akyol leads the ‘aselsaneXt Transformation Program’ with the vision of making ASELSAN one of the world's top 30 defense industry companies by the end of 2030.

Before joining ASELSAN, he held managerial positions at the Ministry of Industry and Technology and the Ministry of National Defense between 2007 and 2017. In these roles, he carried out important work on technological transformation in industrial production and the development of the Turkish Armed Forces.

Between 2018 and 2021, he served as Director of the Communications Electronics and Information Systems (MEBS) Department at the Defense Industry Presidency, and then as Director of the Electronic Warfare and Radar Systems (EHRS) Department between 2021 and 2022. During this period, he played a role in the implementation of critical defense industry projects such as the electro-optical cameras of our UAVs, national friend-foe identification systems, AESA-based radars, and electronic warfare systems integrated into ground-based or air platforms.

Akyol graduated from the Department of Computer Engineering at Kocaeli University. He is currently pursuing a master's degree in Public Administration at Yıldırım Beyazıt University. He completed the Innovation Leadership Program at Stanford University and technical programs in Electro-Optics and Communications at Cranfield University.

He has served as a board member and deputy chairman at companies such as HAVELSAN, HTR, and Quantum3D during various periods. He currently serves as the vice chairman of the board at TÜBİTAK-SAGE, where Turkey’s major missile programs are conducted, and at SAHA Istanbul, Europe’s largest defense industry cluster. He represents Turkey as a member of the NATO Science and Technology Board (STO).

He is married and has three children.
