Abdullah Eren was born in Istanbul in 1984. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Boğaziçi University and a master’s degree in Diplomatic Studies from the University of Westminster in London.
Eren began his career in public service as Deputy Director of the Prime Minister’s Private Office. He subsequently served as Adviser to the Prime Minister and later as Chief Adviser to the President of the Republic of Türkiye. By a Presidential Decision dated 27 October 2018, he was appointed President of the Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB).
During his tenure as President of YTB, Eren led initiatives aimed at Turkish citizens living abroad as well as kin and related communities striving to preserve their identity and culture across different regions, particularly Crimean Tatars, Ahiska Turks, and Iraqi and Syrian Turkmens.
Eren contributed to strengthening Türkiye’s position as a major destination for international student mobility and spearheaded the development of programmes and activities for international students pursuing their studies in Türkiye.
Having held various positions in the field of civil society, Eren currently serves as a Member of the Board of Directors of TEKNOFEST, a Member of the Board of Trustees of the Can Health Foundation, a Member of the Turkish National Commission for UNESCO, and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Culture and Heritage Foundation (KÜME).
Abdullah Eren has been appointed the President of the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency following the Presidential Decree dated 11.07.2025, he is proficient in English, is married, and has two children.
