Born in 1988, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Abdullah Ateş completed his undergraduate education at Erciyes University, Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, and his master’s and doctorate in Computer Engineering at İnönü University. Starting his academic career at the same university, Ateş conducted research on control systems and semiconductors at the University of California, Merced in the USA between 2017 and 2018.
Within the Optimization Methods Engineering Practice Lab (OMEPLAB), which he founded in 2019, he conducts interdisciplinary studies and provides consultancy to graduate students.
Between 2023 and 2024, he carried out postdoctoral research on hyper-heuristic algorithms at the University of Nottingham in the UK.
His studies focus on optimization, control, and artificial intelligence. Serving as an advisory board member within the scope of TEKNOFEST, Ateş takes an active role in process optimization and the evaluation and guidance processes of innovative engineering projects; he also provides advanced academic and technical consultancy to student teams.
