Within the scope of TEKNOFEST Technology Competitions, the Fighting Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) Competition, organized by BAYKAR, was held at Bursa Yunuseli Airport on April 15-19.
Organized this year only in the Fixed Wing category, UAVs, all designed from software to hardware by young people competed at Bursa Yunuseli Airport. The UAVs designed by the young people stayed in the air at the same time and competed with each other during the competition. The competition, which consisted of two different missions, "Combating UAV" and "Kamikaze UAV", witnessed exciting moments.

The evaluation of the competition was made in four different stages as Preliminary Design and Critical Design Reports, Flight Evidence Video and System Description Videos and competition scoring. Teams competing for the grand prize tried to successfully complete the Kamikaze mission in at least one competition round, along with the Fighting UAV mission (autonomous locking to any aircraft in the air).
This year, a total of 754 teams applied to the competition, which encourages young people to conduct scientific and technical studies by directing them to Unmanned Aerial Vehicle technologies. Among these teams, 190 competitors from 22 teams from 12 different cities competed in the final. The teams that were entitled to receive plaque awards in the races held at Bursa Yunuseli Airport on April 15-19 were presented their awards by Deputy Minister of Industry and Technology & TEKNOFEST Chief Executive Officer Mehmet Fatih Kacır. In the competition, Abra Team received the Best Team Spirit award, Akıncılar received the Best System Architecture award, Albatros received the Best Design award and Koustech team received the Best Software award.
Within the scope of TEKNOFEST 2023 Technology Competitions, the top three teams that ranked in the Warrior UAV, which is among the competitions with the highest awards, will receive their awards at TEKNOFEST Istanbul, which will be held at Atatürk Airport between April 27 and May 01. The first prize will be 500 thousand TL, the second prize will be 350 thousand TL, and the third prize will be 250 thousand TL.
