Applications poured in for TEKNOFEST…

With the success achieved in the first year of Turkey's largest technology meeting, TEKNOFEST, and the excitement it created among young people, applications for technology competitions increased significantly compared to last year.

While 4 thousand 208 applications were made to TEKNOFEST competitions last year, this year it reached 6 thousand 774, although applications are still continuing in some categories.
2,372 teams will compete in the Technology for the Benefit of Humanity Competition, 571 in the Rocket Competition, 502 in the Fighting UAV Competition, 470 in the Flying Car Design Competition, 339 in the Artificial Intelligence Competition, and 220 in the Unmanned Underwater Systems Competition.


Turkey's largest technology meeting, TEKNOFEST, will witness a much more comprehensive event this year with increased competitions and contestants. There was a significant increase in applications for the competition, which attracted attention with the success it achieved in its first year and the excitement it created among young people.

TEKNOFEST Istanbul Aviation, Space and Technology Festival, which was first held last year and became the second largest aviation festival in the world with over 550 thousand visitors, will host colorful shows and technology competitions this year as well.

T.R. TEKNOFEST, organized under the leadership of the Ministry of Industry and Technology and Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, and supported by the Turkish Technology Team Foundation (T3 Foundation), which adopts Turkey's national technology move and transformation into a technology-producing society as the main goal, and important institutions and companies of the country, took place on 17- It will be held at Ataturk Airport on September 22.

At the festival; 33 technology competitions will be held at primary, secondary, high school, undergraduate, graduate and graduate levels.

Those who aim high are coming with their rockets
The highest increase in applications was in the environment sub-category of the Technology for the Benefit of Humanity Competition for university students, with 356 percent.

One of the categories that attracted intense attention was the Rocket Competition, which was organized to increase students' interest in the field of space technologies and improve their skills in this field. A total of 571 applications were received in the low and high altitude sub-categories for the second of the competition, which received 157 applications last year and was successfully held in Salt Lake.

Competition is growing in İHAs
A series of competitions for unmanned aerial vehicle (İHA) technologies will also be held at TEKNOFEST.

A total of 502 applications were made in the rotary and fixed-wing categories for the Fighting UAV Competition, which aims to enable competitors who will develop technology for autonomous İHAs to gain competence in original design, production and reporting.

73 teams applied to the Swarm İHA Simulation Competition, which involves developing software algorithms to perform defined tasks in swarms with more than one UAV, based on task sharing, backup and complementing each other.

Flying cars will appear on the scene
Flying Car Design Competition was also added to TEKNOFEST this year.

Teams formed by secondary and higher education students come together to create a "flying car" that can travel safely both on land and in the air, from one point to another in human habitation areas or between residential areas, including densely populated areas, using the road when necessary and the air when necessary. will present the concept.
