About the Competition

Today, underwater research is carried out for various purposes such as protecting and studying natural resources in civilian and military applications and ensuring national security. A significant portion of recent academic and industrial research has focused on the use of unmanned vehicles in order to avoid putting human life at risk and to reduce the costs of underwater or marine operations.

In line with this need, our aim is to pioneer the development of indigenous vehicles by spreading the production and development of underwater vehicles capable of performing remote-controlled and/or autonomous missions that will successfully perform the missions related to the scenarios given to the teams.

The Unmanned Underwater Systems Competition, which will be organized for the 8th time as of 2025, will be held at sea for the first time this year.

Teams should be formed by the gathering of secondary education (middle school, high school) or higher education (associate, undergraduate and graduate) students studying in Turkey and abroad. Teams should consist of at least 3 and at most 15 people. Teams can also have only 1 person as an advisor.

The evaluation stages of the competition are as follows;
  • Technical Qualification Form
  • Critical Design Report
  • Sealing, Mobility and Mission Demonstration Video
  • Final Phase
Templates for the reports that competitors should prepare will be announced on the TEKNOFEST website at a later date.
