Using their knowledge in different fields, young people succeed in rocket design, production and integration by thinking across disciplines and planning complex operations and processes. They also benefit from the experiences of other teams that have successfully flown their rockets, encouraging teams to engage in a friendly competition where they can examine different design examples. Moreover, the fact that young people produce and fly rockets of their own design is a great source of motivation for their future career choices.

The Rocket competition, which is one of the most eagerly awaited competitions of TEKNOFEST every year, is organized in 9 categories, A and B group this year. In Group A, the High School Category is organized at a minimum altitude of 4000 feet and only high school students can participate. The High Altitude and Challenging Mission Categories, which are held at a minimum altitude of 15000 feet, are open to associate, undergraduate and graduate students and graduates. One of the two new categories added to Group A this year is the International Category, which will be held at an altitude of 8000 feet, and the Original Hybrid Engine Rocket Category, which will also be held at an altitude of 8000 feet. In Group B, associate, undergraduate and graduate students and graduates can also participate in the categories of Developing a Rocket Control Section, Developing a Hybrid Fuel Rocket Engine and Developing a Liquid Fuel Rocket Engine.
