Full Support for Young People in TEKNOFEST Rocket Competition
While the "Rocket Competition", organized as part of the TEKNOFEST Aerospace and Technology Festival, continues with all its excitement in Aksaray Tuz Gölü, today, the last day of the competition, Mehmet Fatih Kacır, the Minister of Industry and Technology and Chairman of TEKNOFEST’s Executive Board and Selçuk Bayraktar, Chairman of TEKNOFEST’s Board of Directors and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Turkish Technology Team Foundation, visited the Hisar Launch Area.

Minister Kacır, visited the competition, which offers a unique experience in the field of space technologies to young people and is organized by ROKETSAN, said, “TEKNOFEST is the world's largest space, aerospace and technology festival and participation continues to increase every year. In the 100th Anniversary of the Republic, 1 million young people participated in 41 competitions. We are witnessing an increasing interest in the Rocket Competition year by year. While 156 teams applied to Rocket Competition in our first year, now this number increased to 1,098 team”. Minister Kacır concluded his speech with the following words: “By Allah's leave, we will continue to act shoulder to shoulder and support each other with the youth on our journey of The National Technology Initiative, If Allah permits, we will break many records and leave our signature on the sky together”.
Faruk Yiğit, ROKETSAN’s Chairman of the Board, accompanied Mehmet Fatih Kacır and Selçuk Bayraktar, by visiting and following the teams in the Hisar Launch Area. During the rocket launch, Selçuk Bayraktar said that “We took the road with the dream of bringing young people together with technology at an early age and raising them in this direction. Within this framework we will continue to accompany the young people.”
₺1,140,000 Reward in Rocket Competition
This year, Rocket Competition, which is among the most remarkable competition of TEKNOFEST 2023, is organized in four different categories: high school (minimum 4 thousand feet), medium altitude (minimum 8 thousand feet), high altitude (minimum 18 thousand feet) and Challenging Task Category. This year, 1,098 teams applied to Rocket Competition, where the number of applications increase exponentially. Those who qualified for the finals were 612 competitors with 64 teams.
High school, undergraduate and postgraduate students as well as graduates attended to the competition, which provides young people with a unique technology adventure, offers them an important step in their aviation career and develops their teamworking skills. This year, the total amount of Prize in Rocket Competition is ₺1,140,000 thousand, where the prize pool increases exponentially in TEKNOFEST 2023.
