Taking action within the framework of investing in emerging technologies and establishing a productive unit, TEKNOFEST contributes to the development of a vision in the field of smart transportation technologies. The Smart Transportation Competition aims to encourage students to develop projects that will provide social benefit, while at the same time using technology in a way that will add value to social life.
Within the scope of the competition, it is aimed to develop projects that will bring solutions to existing problems in the field of transportation by integrating individuals' awareness of social benefit with their technological knowledge and experience. The competition, which enables the integrated application of modern technology and management strategies to transportation systems, creates opportunities to make life easier by solving technological and economic problems.
The Smart Transportation Competition aims to reduce travel times, increase traffic safety, improve mobility and ensure energy efficiency. The competition is organized under three main headings: land, air and sea transportation, and young people are expected to develop innovative projects for the needs of the future in each category. In land transportation, solutions will be sought in areas such as “Smart Traffic Management and Optimization”, “Autonomous Vehicles and Smart Vehicle Technologies”, “Smart Parking Systems”, “Road Safety and Emergency Management”, “Electric Vehicles and Charging Station Network” and “Passenger Transportation and Service Systems”. On the other hand, projects will be developed for the efficient use of air transportation in the fields of “Smart Airport Management”, “Drones and Air Transport”, “Flight Traffic Management and Optimization” and “Smart Aircraft Systems”. In maritime transportation, the projects to be developed under titles such as “Autonomous Maritime Transportation and Smart Ships”, “Maritime Traffic Management”, “Sustainable Maritime Transportation”, “Intelligent Loading and Unloading Systems at Ports” and “Marine Pollution Monitoring and Early Warning Systems” aim to respond to the future needs of society by bringing transportation systems to a safer, sustainable and technologically advanced level.
The competition, which is open to students studying in Turkey and abroad, is organized in three different categories: middle school level, high school level and university level and above. This year, a total of 540 thousand TL worth of prizes will be awarded to the winning teams. The deadline for application is February 20, 2025.
