Underwater Rocket Competition | Teknofest

About the Competition


Today, underwater technologies are of great importance in both military and civilian fields. This technology is actively used in many different fields such as reconnaissance, research, security, defense and environmental monitoring. In recent years, the increase in underwater operations around the world has revealed how critical it is for these systems to be adequate in terms of hardware and capability. Advanced sonars, autonomous vehicles and robotic systems play a critical role in a wide range of activities, from understanding the marine ecosystem to military operations. Therefore, the development of underwater technologies and the training of engineers who will work in this field in the future has become a great necessity.

Accordingly, the main objective of the competition is to enable teams to develop innovative and autonomous systems suitable for the given scenarios and underwater conditions, and to successfully complete the specified missions. Within the scope of the competition, an underwater rocket vehicle is expected to be designed and the rocket firing process is expected to be carried out correctly. In this process, the development of autopilot and navigation systems for the vehicle to follow the specified route will also be an important achievement. At the same time, this competition aims to contribute to the development of indigenous, domestic and highly capable underwater systems.
 
Higher education (associate, undergraduate and graduate) students studying in Türkiye can apply to the competition. Teams should consist of at least 5 and at most 15 people (this number does not include the advisor).

The evaluation stages of the competition are as follows;

  • Mission Capability Demonstration Video
  • Final Evaluation Phase
Templates for the reports that competitors should prepare will be announced on the TEKNOFEST website at a later date.

TEKNOFEST STARTUP PROGRAM

The TEKNOFEST Startup Program, organized under the leadership of the T3 Startup Center, is designed for TEKNOFEST finalists at the university level and beyond. The program offers participants 11 different opportunities, including entrepreneurship training and investor meetings.
