Rocket Competition | TEKNOFEST

About the Competition

The Rocket Competition aims to increase students' interest in space technologies and develop their skills, while raising awareness in the society about aerospace, space, and technology fields. It seeks to support young people in these fields, encourage them to conduct research on future technologies, and familiarize them with professional design processes.
 
There are 2 groups, group A and group B, and 11 sub-categories in the competition. These are;
  • A1 High School Category (minimum 4,000 feet)
  • A2 Medium Altitude Category (minimum 8,000 feet)
  • A3 High Altitude Category (minimum 15,000 feet)
  • A4 International Category (minimum 8,000 feet)
  • A5 Challenging Task Category (minimum 12,000 feet)
  • A6 SRAD Hybrid Propellant Motor & Rocket Category (minimum 5,000 feet)
  • A7 SRAD Liquid Propellant Motor & Rocket Category (minimum 3,000 feet)
  • B1 SRAD Rocket Control Section Development Category
  • B2 SRAD Hybrid Propellant Rocket Motor Development Category
  • B3 SRAD Liquid Propellant Rocket Motor Development Category
  • B4 Flight Modeling and Simulation Software Development Category

Teams in the A1 (High School Category) must have all team members enrolled in high school to be eligible to apply for the competition. For teams competing in all A and B Group competition categories except the A1 category, at least half of the team members must be students to be eligible to apply.

Teams consisting entirely of Turkish citizens are not eligible to apply to Category A4 (International Category). In foreign teams applying to Category A4, the number of Turkish citizens may be at most half of the total team members. Turkish citizens included in teams applying to Category A4 must be either currently enrolled as students in the country to which the team is affiliated, or graduates of an educational institution in that country who currently reside there.

For Group B;

  • Subsystem Acceptance Tests
  • System Acceptance Tests
Templates for the reports to be prepared by the competitors will be announced on the TEKNOFEST website until the application deadline.

Young students who are trained to develop technology are given the opportunity to explain projects and inspire them.

In order to support the projects of thousands of young people, material support is provided to the teams that pass the stages determined for the competitions.

Finalist teams are provided with transportation/accommodation support for TEKNOFEST competitions.

Prizes await the teams that compete in TEKNOFEST and qualify for the ranking.

EDUCATION

TRAINING CAMP PROGRAM
Training programs will be organized for the finalist teams with the participation of the executive institution and advisory board members.

Q&A MEETÇINGS
Teams with the participation of the executive and advisory board members Meetings where projects, evaluation criteria and processes can direct questions to the advisory board will be planned.
 

CAREER

INTERNSHIP
Internship opportunities in Turkey's technology institutions will be provided.

GUIDANCE AND SUPPORT PROGRAMS FOR INTERNATIONAL COMPETITIONS
Turkey under the Technology Team, conducted by the Foundation for the National Team Program Support Technology Teams are provided with incentives through orientation and support programs for international competitions.
