Model Satellite Competition | Teknofest

About the Competition

Model Satellite Competition aims to reflect various aspects of real systems by covering all stages of space/satellite projects from design to production and post-mission evaluation, aiming to develop a system that meets telemetry and communication requirements, provides an autonomous structure and works interdisciplinary.

Students enrolled in undergraduate or master's programs in Türkiye or abroad may participate in teams of at least 3 and no more than 6 members. (This number does not include the advisor.)

This year's competition concept, SİGMA (Stability-Integrated Guidance Mechanical Actuator), represents an integrated engineering approach that ensures stable, safe, and controlled landing after the payload is separated from the carrier through active landing control. Teams will demonstrate a payload with high real-time data management and flight reliability by operating mechanical, electronic, software, and communication subsystems together.

The evaluation stages of the competition are as follows:

  • Critical Design Review Report (CDR)
  • Qualification Review (QR)
  • Flight Readiness Review (FRR)
  • Flight
  • Post Flight Review (PFR)
Templates for the reports required to be prepared by competitors will be announced on the TEKNOFEST website soon.

TEKNOFEST STARTUP PROGRAM

The TEKNOFEST Startup Program, organized under the leadership of the T3 Startup Center, is designed for TEKNOFEST finalists at the university level and beyond. The program offers participants 11 different opportunities, including entrepreneurship training and investor meetings.
