Jet Engine Design Competition

ABOUT THE COMPETITION

Jet Engine Design Competition is organized within the scope of TEKNOFEST Technology competitions.

Within the scope of the Jet Engine Design Competition, it is aimed to increase students' interest in the field of aviation gas turbine engine technologies and improve their capabilities.

In the Turbojet Engine Combustion Chamber Design category, it is aimed to design a combustion chamber with high altitude ignition capability for a turbojet engine producing 60 lbf lbs of thrust.

In the Turbojet Engine Control Unit Design category, it is aimed to realize the design of an engine control system for a turbojet engine.

Students of engineering departments (undergraduate, graduate and doctorate) of universities studying in Turkey and abroad and recent graduates of engineering departments (not professionally practicing engineering profession) can participate in the competition.

The evaluation stages of the competition are as follows;
  • Conceptual Design Report (CDR)
  • Detailed Design Report (DDR)
  • Final presentations
  • Rig Test
In 2025, the Jet Engine Design competition will be held for the first time in two new categories: Turbojet Engine Combustion Chamber Design and Turbojet Engine Control Unit Design.

Templates for the reports that competitors should prepare will be announced on the TEKNOFEST website at a later date.

Teams with the participation of the executive and advisory board members Meetings where projects, evaluation criteria and processes can direct questions to the advisory board will be planned.

INTERNSHIP
Internship opportunities in Turkey's technology institutions will be provided.

GUIDANCE AND SUPPORT PROGRAMS FOR INTERNATIONAL COMPETITIONS
Turkey under the Technology Team, conducted by the Foundation for the National Team Program Support Technology Teams are provided with incentives through orientation and support programs for international competitions.
