About the Competition

Rocket Competition aims to develop students' abilities by increasing their interest in space technologies, to raise awareness in society in the field of rocketry, to support young people that are interested in this field, to encourage them to research future technologies and to ensure that they become familiar with professional design processes.

In order for teams in the A1 (High School Category) category to apply to the competition, all team members must be high school students. Teams that will compete in all competition categories except the A1 (High School Category) category may consist of students or graduates.

The evaluation stages of the competition are as follows:

For Group A;
  • Preliminary Design Report 
  • Critical Design Report
  • -Launch Readiness Report 
For Group B:
  • Preliminary Design Report 
  • Critical Design Report 
  • Component Level Acceptance Tests Report 
  • Subsystem Level Acceptance Tests Report 
  • System Level Acceptance Tests Report 
There are 2 groups, A and B, and 7 categories in the competition. These are as follows:
  • A1: High School Category (minimum 4.000 feet)
  • A2: Medium Altitude Category (minimum 18000 feet)
  • A3: High Altitude Category (minimum 15.000 feet)
  • A4: Challenging Duty Category
  • B1: Control Section Development
  • B2: Development of Hybrid Fuel Rocket Engine
  • B3: Liquid Fuel Rocket Engine Development
Templates for the reports to be prepared by the competitors and Rocket Engine catalogues will be announced on the TEKNOFEST website by the end of the application period.
