About the Competition

The aim of the competition is to demonstrate conceptual design of a light class 5-seat (including the pilot) helicopter which can be more competitive regarding performance features, affordability and operability compared to the aircrafts in the current market.
This year, the design competition aims to reach focused, highly motivated young engineers, to encourage the projection of potential engineering abilities to solve the design problem.
The aim with the competition is that participants create a conceptual design applicable in terms of market and industry realities. Participants’ design projects should be focused on light class helicopters with a productivity goal, rather than designs based on future technologies. Engineering criteria and decision methods practiced by the participants shall be evaluated within this framework. The design solutions reflected in the reports shall be evaluated against the level of fulfillment of defined design and performance requirements.
