Applications continue until February 20 for the Hyperloop Development Competition, which was held for the first time in Türkiye in 2022 within the scope of TEKNOFEST Aerospace and Technology Festival, aiming to focus on the next generation transportation technologies for young people.

Designed as a technology-focused competition that will enable the development of different types of magnetic levitation and propulsion technologies, the Hyperloop Development Competition aims to involve university students in the innovative transportation technologies referred to as the 5th Generation.
With the Hyperloop Development Competition organized by TÜBİTAK, it is aimed to contribute to the global technological development in high-speed transportation systems in our country by producing solutions that will enable the design and testing of capsules. The competition, which aims to create awareness in the field of magnetic levitation (maglev) technologies, provide students with knowledge in the field of next-generation transportation technologies, encourage teamwork, and lead the development of hyperloop technologies through practical applications to create competent human resources in this field, has been determined with a first prize of 200,000 TL, a second prize of 150,000 TL, and a third prize of 120,000 TL.
By adding a different dimension to conventional transportation technologies and developed with new-generation rail-free system technology, Hyperloop, described as an "advanced high-speed transportation vehicle," is ushering in a new era in transportation.
Through the Hyperloop Development Competition, designed as a technology-focused competition that will enable the development of different types of magnetic levitation and propulsion technologies, an entry is aimed to be made at the university student level into innovative transportation technology studies referred to as the 5th Generation.
TEKNOFEST, which has taken action to enable our country to take an active role in new-generation technologies of strategic importance in the logistics field, is preparing young people for the future to contribute to the trained human resources in this field. Support is provided for teams' projects in the competition, where national and international associate, undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral students can participate.
Innovation awards will also await young people within the scope of the competition. In five different categories, namely Electromagnetic Levitation System Development, Propulsion System Development, Infrastructure Development, Communication System Development, and Mechanical System Development, awards will be given again. Teams will present their developed subsystems to the jury. Among the presentations, the best ones will be awarded prizes worth 30,000 TL.
