Helicopters, which serve in many fields such as search and rescue, logistics, transportation, reconnaissance, and surveillance, provide superior advantages as indispensable aircraft of today. The importance of engineering activities in both the operational and design stages is increasing day by day in the face of the unique roles and missions of helicopters. In this context, students participating in the Helicopter Design Competition, organized under the leadership of TUSAŞ within the scope of TEKNOFEST Technology Competitions, gain the ability to develop conceptual design stages by determining the operational requirements of the helicopter system.
In the Helicopter Design Competition, participants are expected to make conceptual designs of a rotorcraft or rotorcraft system capable of vertical flight that will meet passenger and/or cargo transportation needs for the next 20 to 40 years. Additionally, participants are required to prepare a corporate business plan for manufacturing, marketing, and servicing the designed vehicle.
Undergraduate and graduate university students, as well as university graduates, can participate individually or as a team in the competition. In this privileged competition that will push the limits of your imagination in design, the first prize is set at 100,000 TL, the second prize at 80,000 TL, and the third prize at 60,000 TL.
