The competition aims to integrate individuals' social responsibility awareness with their technological knowledge and expertise to create projects that benefit society. The goal is to achieve innovation and technological advancement in the transportation sector that affects human life, with practical projects. TEKNOFEST contributes to the development of a vision in the field of smart transportation technologies. In the Smart Transportation Competition, students integrate their social responsibility awareness with their technological knowledge and expertise to create projects that add value to community life.
Within the scope of the competition, the aim is to increase mobility in the face of limited transportation capacity, including natural disasters, earthquakes, and emergencies, to meet the need for faster, more comfortable, and safer transportation. The competition enables the integration of modern technology and management strategies into transportation systems, creating opportunities to solve problems technologically and economically to facilitate life.
Reducing travel times, increasing traffic safety, increasing mobility, achieving energy efficiency, and developing and presenting environmentally friendly projects are also expected from young people in the Smart Transportation Competition.
The competition, open to students studying in Türkiye and abroad, is organized in three different categories: primary and middle school level, high school level, and higher education and graduates. This year, a total of 390 thousand TL worth of awards will be given to the winning teams. In the award distribution, the first-place winners in primary-middle school and high school levels will receive 50 thousand TL, the second-place winners 40 thousand TL, and the third-place winners 30 thousand TL. For university-level and above, the first-place winner will receive 60 thousand TL, the second-place winner 50 thousand TL, and the third-place winner 40 thousand TL. The deadline for applications for the competition is February 20, 2024.
